From Okey Sampson, Umuahia
The traditional ruler of Umuokwe autonomous community, Umuhu-Ezechi clan in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, Eze Chigaemezu Onwuchekwa has lauded Governor Alex Otti and Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for their developmental strides.
Eze Onwuchekwa said both Governor Otti and Senator Kalu have done wonderfully well in turning the state around for good.
The traditional ruler in commending Otti recalled the numerous road projects his administration has undertaken since coming into office.
He mentioned some of the roads to include Port Harcourt Road and others in Aba and the Umuahia-Uzuakoli-Akara-Ohafia, amongst others in the area.
He equally gave kudos to the governor for offsetting arrears of pension owed to pensioners in the state and embarking on the clearing of salary arrears of workers of tertiary Institutions owed by the previous administrations.
The traditional ruler in another breadth, eulogized Senator Kalu for his quality representation of Abia North at the upper legislative chamber of the National Assembly.
“In the history of representation of Abia North at the Senate, nobody has done what Senator Kalu is doing, in fact he is a blessing to us from the area.
“So many roads, schools, health centres and what have you have been rehabilitated through the intervention of the former governor of the state.”
Eze Onwuchekwa in commending Senator Kalu for despite all odds, attracting the retrofitting of two schools in Umuhu-Ezechi assured him of his people’s support and prayed God to continue to bless him.
While particularly thanking Kalu for the rehabilitation of the Igbere-Umuhu Ezechi Road, the monarch pleaded with the Senator to extend the rehabilitation of the road to his community, Umuokwe which he said has been cut off from the rest of the state because of its deplorable condition.
