From Magnus Eze, Enugu
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has extolled former Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji on the pioneering feat of his company, Geometric which power plant was commissioned in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, on Monday.
President General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, congratulated Nnaji, describing him as an exceptional Igbo, audacious, tenacious and industrious; one of the most accomplished brilliant engineers in the world.
He called the renowned scientist and two-time Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a multi-dimensional expert in artificial intelligence, geometric logic, robotics, power and manufacturing engineering; a jinx breaker.
A statement by Ohanaeze’s National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, said Iwuanyanwu, was highly elated that Nnaji had succeeded, in spite of the daunting challenges he encountered in the course of pulling the project through.
The Igbo leader stated that whoever has solved the electricity problem in Nigeria is a game changer, cosmic agent, and unarguably, is the most outstanding Nigerian.
“Professor Bart Nnaji will go down in history as most outstanding African engineer,” he said
The Igbo leader used the occasion to beckon on the various Igbo experts in diverse fields all over the world to emulate the Think Home philosophy of Prof. Nnaji.
“One of the problems of the Third World and indeed Nigeria is the inability to use the best we have for optimum outputs; the inability to make the right choice at critical junctures, and the capitulation to ethnic rivalry even at the risk of national catastrophe. Records show that Nigeria recorded an unprecedented quantum leap in electricity supply under Professor Bart Nnaji as the Minister of Power; but he resigned because of the characteristic Nigerian shenanigan.
“The Igbo leader congratulates Governor Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State and the good people of Abia State for this major break-through; and that the Geometric Power Plant will help to catalyze his fantastic vision for Abia State.
Iwuanyanwu hopes that Aba which is noted for indigenous manufacturing, resilience, ingenuity, innovation, and entrepreneurship will surely take advantage of this unique opportunity. He advised Prof Bart Nnaji to be undaunted in his burning desire to transform Igbo land,” Ogbonnia stated.
