A/ Ibom PDP ready for LG congress to elect new executives

Akwa Ibom state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the party is ready to conduct local government Congress across the 31 council areas in the state .
A statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party Mr Borono Bassey and made available to Journalists in Uyo on Friday stated that the exercise will commence in all the party offices across all local government areas in the state on Saturday 10th August,2024 at 10 am prompt
It therefore advised all members who intends to contest for various offices and have been screened by the party to present themselves at various local government area offices for the elective Congress .
The statement reads in parts :
“In adherence to extant provisions of Constitution of the Party and the Guidelines and Timetable released by the National Headquarters of our Party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akwa Ibom State Chapter hereby notifies members of our party that it will conduct the Congress to elect Chapter Executive Committee Members, tomorrow Saturday, August 10, 2024.
“The Chapter Congress is expected to take place across all the 31 Local Government Areas in Akwa Ibom State.
“Members of our Party aspiring to serve in the Chapter Executive Committees in their respective Local Government Areas, who have been screened and cleared to contest are expected to present themselves for election at the Chapter offices of the Party across the State from 10:00 am prompt.”
Bassey also warned members that only the three adhoc delegates elected during the ward congress are eligible to vote at the chapter Congress as they will constitute electoral college for the said elections.
“Take notice that only the 3 Ad-hoc Delegates recently elected at the Ward Congresses will constitute the Electoral College for this Congress.
“The State Executive Committee of our party enjoin stakeholders and members to conduct themselves in an orderly manner to ensure a peaceful, fair and credible exercise.” He said .
