The member of the House of Representatives, representing, Surulere II Federal Constituency of Lagos State, Lanre Okunlola, has promised to continued to offer quality representation to the Constituency, if reelected in the 2027 general election.
Okunlola, in a statement, noted that as a member of the parliament, his representation was focused on combining lawmaking and oversight with community engagement and the facilitation of development projects.
He noted that his interventions covered infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth and women empowerment, water supply, and support for vulnerable residents among others, stating that more than 80 inner streets had been constructed or rehabilitated across Orile, Coker, Aguda, Itire, Ijesha, and Ikate.
He added that about 20 kilometres of inner and township roads were either completed or undergoing intervention in parts of Coker, Aguda, Itire, and Ijesha.
The lawmaker noted that he has sponsored several bills, including bills for the establishment of the Federal Medical Centre, Orile; Federal College of Education, Ijesha; National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Itire; and National Institute for Creative and Performing Arts, Itire; Nigeria Climate Change Fund Bill, National Flood Insurance Bill, Nigerian Rural Health Care Trust Fund Bill, Agricultural Development and Modernisation Bill, and Ease of Doing Business Act Amendment Bill.
He implored his constituents to to assess his performance based on projects and interventions delivered rather than promises, while expressing his commitment to completing ongoing projects and expand interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment.
“As the 2027 elections approach, I respectfully ask the people of Surulere II to judge me not by promises but by our record of performance,” Okunlola stated.
