In the run-up to the 2027 general election, an All Progressives Congress ( APC), Atiku Bagudu Grassroots Network for Tinubu 2027 has said it is stepping up its mobilization for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu.
The support group, which spoke through its convener, Ali Oriri, said said it has set up a strong grassroots structure across the 19 Northern states to mobilise support for President Tinubu.
Oriri, who disclosed the the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu, has been appointed as the patron of the support group, said the target is to mobilize 19 million votes for the President in the North.
According to him, their support for President Tinubu’s re-election was based on his administration’s efforts to reposition the economy, strengthen infrastructure and implement reforms aimed at creating a more sustainable fiscal foundation for the country.
He noted that the removal of fuel subsidy, foreign exchange reforms and ongoing fiscal and tax reforms though difficult decisions were necessary measures aimed at addressing longstanding structural challenges in the Nigerian economy.
Besides, Oriri also pointed to the administration’s efforts to increase revenue and strengthen public finances through fiscal and tax reforms as part of the achievement of the present administration.
Consequently, he noted that the support group would take its campaign to communities across the 19 Northern states, where they will engage with traditional, religious, youth and community leaders as part of its grassroots mobilisation strategy.
