The Chairman of Enugu State Traditional Rulers Council, HRM Igwe Samuel Asadu, Igwe Ogadagidi, has felicitated with Muslims in the state and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid El Kabir, urging unity, love and selflessness.
In a message to commemorate Eid El Kabir, Igwe Asadu who is the traditional ruler of Edem-Ani Ogwugwu Ancient Kingdom in Nsukka Local Government Area extended warm wishes to the Muslim community in Enugu State, and across the nation, celebrating the enduring values of sacrifice, obedience, and faith embodied by the festival.
The Royal Father who is also the Immediate Past Chairman of South East Council of Traditional Rulers, and Member Board of Trustee Council of Traditional Leaders of Africa (Nigeria Chapter), called on Muslims to remain steadfast and resilient in the face of economic challenges, noting that Enugu State under Governor Peter Mbah’s Administration is emerging stronger and that the future holds a lot of hope.
The statement reads: “I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt felicitations to all Muslim faithful in Enugu State, and across Nigeria on the joyous occasion of Eid El Kabir.
“This sacred celebration reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and unwavering faith, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet. As you gather with loved ones to mark this important festival, may your prayers, sacrifices, and acts of devotion be richly rewarded.
“May this period of Eid El Kabir of celebration be a moment of reflection on the values that unite us as a people. Ensure you maintain peace, tolerance, compassion, and solidarity, as I encourage all our Muslim brothers and sisters to draw strength from the lessons of Eid and to continue to demonstrate these virtues in their daily lives and interactions with others, regardless of religious or ethnic differences, as well as extend love, support, and compassion to those around you, especially the less privileged.
“Once again, I congratulate our Muslim faithful on the celebration of Eid El Kabir. May this season bring you peace, renewed faith, and abundant blessings. I pray that God accepts your sacrifices and grants our dear State and country lasting peace, unity, and progress.”
