The OBU Ohafia, a socio-economic group, Abia State, has described the late Udumeze Ohafia, His Royal Paramountcy, Prof E. U. L. Imaga, as a great “unifier”, noting that under him, the community experienced peace and development.
A statement signed by the group’s president, Chief Nnanna Ajike, emphasised that the late monarch was a rare breed whose legacies would be remembered for a long time by Ohafia sons and daughters all over the world.
“As the remains of Eze Ohamoha and the Udumeze Ohafia, His Royal Paramountcy, Prof Emmanuel Ume Lekwa Imaga is committed to mother earth tomorrow at his palace, Elu Ohafia, his tireless efforts to maintain peace and cultural harmony among the 26 clans that make up Ohafia and among its neighbours would never be forgotten.
“As a distinguished scholar, educationist, macro-economist and agriculturist, Prof Imaga brought his scholarship to bear while on the throne for 14 years to give a new sence of direction to the community.
“OBU Ohafia in reverence to Eze Ohamoha’s achievements, especially his love for the peace and unity of Ohafia land will roll out the drums to celebrate the feat of this great father, monarch and builder of modern Ohafia.
“We enjoined all clans in Ohafia, sons and daughters of the community, friends of the community and lovers of peace to troop down to Elu Ohafia tomorrow for his final rite of passage,” OBU Ohafia stated.
