(UPDATED): Ondo Deputy Gov quits PDP

ONDO State Deputy Governor, Hon Agboola Ajayi has resigned as a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Ajayi who contested the governorship primary or the PDP lost out to Mr Eyitayo Jegede.

The defection of the deputy governor was confirmed by his media aide, Babatope Okeowo via a statement.

The deputy governor appreciated the National Leadership and members of the PDP for their warm reception and acceptance in the short period he rejoined the party.

His decision, he said was based on the call from the people for him to govern the state.

The chairman of the PDP in Apoi Ward 11 of Ese-Odo Local Government Area, Festus Oboro acknowledged the receipt of the resignation letter on 9th of August, 2020.

The Deputy Governor rejoined the PDP on June 21st, 2020, at his home town, Kiribo and contested as the governorship candidate of the party in the party’s primary election held on 22nd of July, 2020.

Ajayi reassured his teaming supporters to remain focused and committed as he will be announcing his next line of action shortly.
