A Nigeria fintech company has announced plans to empower 5000 Kano residents with a training on financial literacy.
Managing Director of PalmPay Limited, Chika Nwosu, confirmed this and said that it was part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for the year 2025.
Nwosu spoke at the palace of the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II during a courtesy visit where he also sought the monarch’s blessings for the program.
He said the CSR initiative targets women, youths, university students and NYSC corps members in the state.

According to him, the company is expanding its impacts in Northern Nigeria, especially in Kano State.
He stressed their support for individuals and female-led micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), through capacity building and access to affordable digital payment tools.
“The company seeks the blessing of His Royal Highness before proceeding with the activities in his domain” he stated.
In his remarks, Emir Sanusi II thanked PalmPay for its CSR and assured them of support, noting that financial technology is a crucial element of the financial system architecture.
He directed his district heads to give the company all the needed support to ensure the success of the program.
