Three Nigerian students studying in the UK are making waves in the healthcare industry. Their startup, Sandfortcare, tackles a common challenge for Nigerians living abroad: ensuring quality care for their elderly parents back home.

The inspiration for Sandfortcare came from a heartbreaking experience. Damilola Olaopa, the startup’s founder, shared how a colleague, a healthcare assistant in the UK, tragically lost his father in Nigeria. Despite caring for others, distance prevented him from tending to his own parent’s needs.

Co-founded by Hameed Abdulrahaman and Isatayo Samuel, Sandfortcare bridges this gap by offering personalised and compassionate healthcare services for elderly Nigerians. Their focus is on Nigerians living in the UK, providing peace of mind for children concerned about their parents’ well-being.

Sandfortcare offers a monthly subscription service for senior citizens in Nigeria. This includes: Personalised care plans tailored to individual needs, regular health checks to monitor and maintaining wellness, nutritional guidance, remote consultations, medication management ensuring timely prescription refills.

Sandfortcare currently caters to Nigerians in the UK, but the expansion plans include reaching more countries across Europe and North America, offering their services to a wider diaspora.
