About 29 medical doctors from United State of America are in Kebbi State to render free treatment service to the less privileged.
The American doctors are collaborating with no fewer than 40 of their Nigerian counterparts.
The Daily Sun gathered that the visiting doctors arrived Birnin-Kebbi, on Tuesday, and they would commence treatment of different people with varieties of illness.
Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, in an interview with journalists, at Kalgo Specialist Hospital, on Tuesday, confirmed the arrival of the American doctors after inspection of the hospital facilities disclosed that the venue has capacity to accommodate 200 patients at a time.
“Most of them were here for a second term and were really happy to partner with us on our laudable achievements.”
Governor Bagudu had earlier disclosed at the Zuguru village that the visiting doctors would spend three weeks in the state.
On the cost implication of their service in the state, Governor Bagudu said, “The value of human lives in Kebbi is most important to us than the cost of the investment. All want from our people is to come out for the treatment.
“They are spending three weeks in Kebbi to render their services. We have partnered with 17 states in Nigeria on rice farming. We sent 100 of our people to Imo State to teach them how to plant rice.
” This has shown us that Nigeria could be a great country not by foreigners but by Nigerians . Rice farming revolution which President Muhammadu Buhari administration had championed and is yielding good results.”
