2027: YPC backs Tinubu’s re-election, pushes Adeola’s agenda in Ogun

A grassroots political support movement, Yayi Progressive Congress (YPC), backing the governorship aspiration of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, (Yayi), has unveiled its state executives and coordinators across Ogun State.

The group, in a statement, also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 through voter mobilisation, advocacy and community engagement initiatives.

The YPC was established to promote issue-based advocacy, voter education and broad citizen participation across Ogun State’s three senatorial districts, local government areas and wards.

The Director General and Convener, Dr. Olaiwola Ogunpaimo, in a statement said the group was focused on building a strong grassroots structure, capable of mobilising support for Adeola’s governorship ambition, while advancing the development agenda of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The new executives of the movement comprises Arowosere Oluwaseun as the Coordinator, while Mr. Egunleti Olalekan serves as the Secretary.

Other members of the state executive include Mrs. Awoniran Olaide as Women Leader, Mr. Soetan Abayomi as PWD Leader, Mr. Ogundele Olusegun, Public Relations Officer, Mrs. Afolabi Iyabo, Financial Secretary, Mrs. Olanrewaju Adedunni, Welfare Director, while Mr. Adejumo Ibraheem Adebowale serves as the Treasurer.

Others are Ologbon Adegoke, Assistant Secretary, while Mrs. Adebambo Ayilara emerged as Deputy Women Leader.

The movement also announced senatorial coordinators for the three districts in the state to include Dr. Muritala Shuaib, coordinator Ogun East; Mr. Ojoawo Lawrence, Ogun Central and Mr. Adeotan Oluwajoga as coordinator for Ogun West.

At the local government level, coordinators were appointed for several councils, including Ewekoro, Abeokuta North, Odogbolu, Odeda, Yewa South, Ipokia, Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa North, Ifo, Ijebu Ode, Ijebu North, Abeokuta South and Imeko-Afon.

The group reiterated its efforts to expand their structure and expand across wards and communities as part of efforts to deepen political participation and strengthen support for the aspirations of Senator Adeola and President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections.
