The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) has dismissed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, saying it consists of politicians, who allegedly does not inspire public confidence.
The APM, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Yusuf, on Saturday, said the APC Presidential Campaign Council, has validated its position that President Bola Tinubu allegedly does not command the support of “patriotic”Nigerians because of his performance since assumption of office.
Nonetheless, the opposition party stated that it did not expect President Tinubu to enjoy the support of “well-meaning Nigerians”, owing to his allegedly dismal performance in the governance of the country.
According to the party, “any Nigerian supporting President Tinubu’s re-election is directly endorsing the re-election of a hopeless and rudderless administration under whose failed watch no fewer than 628,000 Nigerians have been killed with over 2.2 million others including children abducted in just three and half years following the Tinubu administration’s lack of commitment to the security, safety and wellbeing of our citizens.
“How can any well-meaning Nigerian campaign for an administration that has ruined our economy with ill-advised and ill-implemented anti-people policies resulting in the crippling of our national productive sectors, pushing over 140 million Nigerians below poverty line with over 33% unemployment rate and a comatose national infrastructure?
“The APM therefore counsels the Tinubu Campaign Council to note that their mission is dead on arrival. The Osun Governorship election experience should serve as a pointer to them that President Tinubu cannot win the 2027 Presidential election.
“Of course, not when he is in a contest with a more popular candidate in the mould of the APM Presidential Candidate, Seyi Makinde, who is now commanding the support and solidarity of majority of Nigerians as the credible alternative to President Tinubu.”
The APM noted that its presidential candidate ” is armed with a blueprint for a new and transparent approach to governance that puts Nigerians first, prioritizing inclusive human development and wellbeing through people-oriented policies and prudent management of resources.
“This blueprint guarantees security of lives and property, industrialization, massive youth employment, national infrastructural revolution, efficient public service and sustainable prosperity for all.
“The APM therefore urges Nigerians not to despair over President Tinubu’s campaign list but focus on the new beginning which they desire and hope for under a Makinde/Daura Presidency.”
