2027: PDP reaffirms commitment to youth mobilization

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has said  it remains committed to galvanizing young persons to participate actively in the 2027 general election.

The PDP National Youth Leader,Ibrahim Bala-Aboki, in a statement ahead of the August 12, 2026 International Youth Day, said the party would use the celebration to further highlight the critical role of youths in deepening democracy.

Recall that recently the Office of the PDP National Youth Leader inaugurated  a
National Youth Leadership Consultative Forum for the Survival of Democracy in Nigeria and the PDP Female Youth Wing, as part of efforts to mobilize young persons for the 2027 polls.

Bala- Aboki had stated that the initiative are part of a broader mobilisation strategy expected to generate a voter support base of not less than 10 million votes nationwide.

According to him, “with this robust structure and clearly defined responsibilities, we project that the PDP can build a voter support base of not less than ten million votes, all things being equal.”

Therefore, the PDP National Youth Leader stated that opposition party would further use use the Youth Day celebration with the  theme: “How Youth Political Participation Will Curb Voter Apathy in Nigeria,” to deepen its mobilization efforts.

 

He said “The 2026 International Youth Day celebration provides an opportunity to showcase the renewed commitment of the Peoples Democratic Party to youth inclusion.

“The event will highlight the achievements and initiatives of the Office of the National Youth Leader, while providing a platform for meaningful dialogue among youth stakeholders, political actors, opinion leaders, guest speakers and other critical voices in the Nigerian polity.

“As part of the nationwide celebration, all State Youth Leaders have been mandated to commence activities marking the 2026 International Youth Day in their respective states.

“Consequently, PDP structures across the country are expected to come alive with youth-focused activities as the Party joins the global community in celebrating the strength, creativity and potential of young people.”
