The people of Item Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State have vowed to re-elect Governor Francis Nwifuru and the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Chinedu Ogah in 2027 general election.

The people who held solidarity rallies in support of the two leaders said the community has witnessed unprecedented development since Nwifuru and Ogah came into power.

They chanted solidarity songs and marched round the community to drum up support for  the Governor and the lawmaker.

National President of the community, Michael Chukwu a retired Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said Ogah had brought a lot of amenities to the community, which according to him, will sell him to the electorate in the 2027 general elections.

“We’re here in solidarity for Chinedu Ogah, member representing Ikwo and Ezza South Federal Constituency. We applaud his works, his pivotal achievements in this ward and the entire Ikwo and Ebonyi in general. He has brought a lot of development to this place.

“You can see the market here, you can see the town hall, you can see the hospital, you can see the school. You can see ongoing road construction. We want him to continue with his developmental project. We’re with him and will continue to stand with him,” he said.

Another stakeholder in the area, Chief Boniface Mkpuma, described Ogah as  a great leader who has impacted on the people significantly.

“Chinedu Ogah has done well. He gave jobs to our children, even my own son, he gave him a job. He cares for the downtrodden. He has given scholarships, motorcycles and tricycles to our youths. We’re in support of him in the morning, afternoon and evening. He is a great leader and we want him to continue,” he said.

Some women of the community, including Mrs Christiana Nwonu and Mrs. Mercy also praised the lawmaker.

They said Ogah stopped them from doing menial jobs as means of survival, gave them fertilisers during farming season, paid school fees for their children, registered WAEC and NECO for their children, built markets, hospitals and paid hospital bills for the sick.

“There’s nothing he is not doing for us, he gave jobs to our children. Anytime you call him, whether it is at midnight, he will answer you. He pays Jamb fees for all our children. He gives jobs to graduates. The women of Ndiegu Amegu ward 11 are saying that he will go back to the house and continue to represent us.”
