2027: Agbo best man to represent Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo/ Ado Fed. Constituency – Elaigwu, ex-member, Tinubu/Shettima campaign group
From Okwe Obi, Abuja
A former member, Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation, Sunday Santos Elaigwu, has drummed support for Innocent Agbo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who is warming up to contest the House of Representatives poll for Okpokwu/ Ogbadibo/ Ado Federal Constituency, in 2027.
Elaigwu told journalists yesterday in Abuja that Agbo ticked all the boxes raging from his educational qualification, and humane disposition.
The former legislative aide said Agbo, who is into oil business will bring forth his experiences and alleviate the sufferings of the people through quality bills and representation.
He pointed out that it was not too early for him to indicate interest, adding that it was better for him to begin to test the murky waters of politics.
“In a nutshell, Innocent Agbo is a childhood friend. We grew up together. I know he is very passionate about the welfare of his people. He started his activism right from school and we saw how he managed people and resources.
“You will see that this person has the qualities to develop his community. For us it is a homecoming. We want him to continue with the good things he has started.
“I think you can see the situation we find ourselves in the country. Those at the top have not done well that is why people are lamenting. So, we need a different approach and breed of politicians with fresh ideas. Therefore, we are thrusting him forward. We are bringing in somebody who understands the technical know-how.
“We are preparing him for 2027. We are consulting and we are getting positive responses from the people that matter politically.
“When you talk about the chances, I can tell you that the coast is very clear for him. I am a grassroot mobiliser. We will not let him down.
“Our current representative has been there for eight years. We need a new crop of politicians. It is time for another local government to be elected.
“We are not saying you are not good enough. What we are saying is that this time the power has to shift shipped.”
