The 2026 Food and Beverage West Africa (FAB West Africa) exhibition, which attracted over 350 exhibitors from more than 60 countries, will boost the Nigeria’s economy.

The Exhibition Manager, Elliot Drury, made the disclosure in a chat with journalists on the sideline of the programme at Landmark Event Centre, Lagos.

He stated that the participants explored trade, investment, manufacturing, and distribution opportunities during the three-day exhibition, one of Africa’s largest food and beverage industry events, which ended Thursday.

The exhibition featured a wide range of international brands and companies, including both long-standing participants and first-time exhibitors from across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East.

Drury described this year’s edition as the largest in the event’s history. He noted that it was an eye opener, which would help promote the Nigeria economy in a positive way.

He noted that the exhibition serves as a platform for international and local businesses to build partnerships, identify distributors, and explore market opportunities. He also mentioned increasing interest among exhibitors in establishing manufacturing partnerships within Nigeria.

One of the exhibitors, Japhet Adianawo, a service partner at BCE Food Service, said the exhibition provided valuable opportunities to connect with industry stakeholders.

Also, Daan Busscher, Managing Partner at Export Partner Netherlands, said the exhibition marked the organisation’s first participation in Nigeria.

Gbemi Ogunkeye, Marketing Lead for Kerry Greater Africa, said: “We operate eight factories across Africa, including one in Nigeria. Our Nigerian facility includes beverage, bakery, and savoury laboratories that support product development for food and beverage manufacturers.”

Kapil Sewani, Founder of India’s confectionery company Mannco LLP, described Nigeria as one of the company’s most important African markets.
