As 2025 begins, the Resource Conservation Development Initiative (RCDI) has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to sustainability and transforming lives.
In a press statement signed by the founder, Minite Okoroh-Oviaesu, on Thursday, the organization urged stakeholders to unite in making 2025 a defining year for progress and environmental stewardship.
The statement outlined key programs aimed at achieving RCDI’s mission:
Blue Horizons Initiative
“By expanding access to safe and affordable drinking water, we aim to provide clean water to an additional 250,000 individuals this year. Through innovative solutions and community engagement, we are working to ensure health and prosperity for all,” the statement read.
PureFlow Sanitation Excellence Project
“Transforming lives through improved sanitation, we will impact 75,000 people by constructing modern facilities and promoting hygiene education. Our goal is to eliminate open defecation and foster healthier communities.”
Empowering Local Action
Through this program, RCDI is empowering 60 communities to lead their own sanitation and hygiene initiatives. “Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) remains a cornerstone of our efforts, promoting self-reliance and sustainable change,” the organization emphasized.
Policy Advocacy and Awareness
“By driving policy changes and raising awareness, we aim to influence sustainable water and sanitation practices nationwide. Through strategic partnerships and community outreach, we are building a movement for lasting impact,” the statement added.
RCDI concluded its statement with a call to action: “Together, we can create a brighter, healthier, and more sustainable future. Partner with us to support these transformative initiatives and make a difference.”
