Omeje addressing the group

From Felix Ikem, Nsukka

The Enugu State Commissioner for Transport, Hon Andy Omeje has assured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of his total support and loyalty ahead of the Enugu North senatorial district election in 2023.

The commissioner disclosed this to newsmen on Monday shortly after his meeting with members of Ebube Adada at Golden Valley Hotel, Nsukka.

He said that he has mobilised ‘Ebube Adada’ a socio-political group he founded some years back whose membership is drawn from Enugu Senatorial District to join him in mobilising support for the governor who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Enugu North senatorial district.

He noted that his support for the governor is total and comprehensive, stressing that the district and Enugu state in general has witnessed unprecedented and remarkable transformations under Ugwuanyi’s administration.

“Today, we reactivated and assembled members of Ebube Adada socio-political group in Enugu north senatorial district to mobilise support and ensure victory for governor Ugwuanyi who is PDP candidate for the senatorial district.

“The group also reaffirmed their resolves to continue to throw their weight behind the administration of the governor in the state, give total and unflinching support to the policies and projects of his government, as well as support and queue behind any party candidate he ask them to queue behind.

“We are doing all this to show our appreciation for the good work the governor has done in the state and in the district for the past seven years and to encourage him to keep up the good,” he said.

The commissioner who is the immediate past Chairman of Igboeze South LGA said further that the governor’s good leadership quality, his peaceful disposition and his wealth of experience in governance which has endeared him with the people of the state will be an added advantage to his candidacy.

On the Enugu State Transport Company (ENTRCO), the commissioner said he had identified some challenges of the transport ministry and would tackle them as soon as possible.

“I know the important role of ENTRCO plays as transport company to Enugu State and other states in the country the buses cover.

“There is no ministry in this country that has no challenges, the good thing is that we have identified the challenges and are putting measures to solve the problems and get the company work effectively again.

“Very soon, ENTRCO will receive a new lease of life and will be able to compete with any state transport company in the country,” he said.

The newly appointed Commissioner urged staff of the ministry to always carry out their duties with dedication as the administration under his watch would ensure that thier welfare much need attention.

“I know the staff of the ministry are doing well but there is still room for improvement so that we can move the ministry to enviable height,” he said.

Speaking earlier during the meeting one of the founding members of Ebube Adada Hon Chidi Concord said the group had great respect for Omeje because of his numerous achievements as LG chairman as well as his love for youths.

“The youths in the district is happy on the appointment of Omeje as the new transport commissioner in Enugu State after he served as LG chairman of Igboeze-South.

“Having him as founder of Ebube Adada socio-political group is a big plus to the group, we will continue to work together with him to ensure victory for Ugwuanyi and other party candidates in the 2023 general election,” he said.
