Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi’s second term bid received a boost, at the weekend, when stakeholders in the Southern senatorial district adopted him as their sole candidate for the 2019 governorship election.
The stakeholders, led by Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Obasi Odefa, adopted Umahi during a meeting in Afikpo, Afikpo North Local Government Area of the state.
Odefa told the gathering that adoption of Umahi for the 2019 governorship election was as a result of the governor’s “sterling performance” in office.
He also said the governor’s performance, so far, has surpassed the expectations of the people of the zone and the state, in general.
The lawmaker explained that Umahi’s developmental strides are unprecedented and called for continued support of the people for his administration.
The deputy speaker said Umahi has executed laudable projects in the 13 local government areas of the state, which, according to him, were his selling points in the 2019 governorship election.
