A 17 year old student of Government Secondary School, Gboko, Gboko Local Government Area, (LGA), of Benue state, has committed suicide.
The Benue State Police Command confirmed this to newsmen in Makurdi, on Friday.
Our correspondent gathered that the student, one Terhemba Tyochivir, who resides with his parents at Akpehe area of Makurdi, committed suicide on Thursday in Makurdi.
The Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Catherine Anene confirmed the incident saying the incident happened in Makurdi.
Anene said Master Tyochivir committed suicide on Thursday.
She said before his death, he was a student of Government Secondary School, Gboko.
According to her, details of the incident has remained sketchy even though the incident was reported at the E Division Police Station, Makurdi.
She said the deceased was rushed to Bishop Murray Hospital Makurdi where the doctors confirmed him dead.
Efforts to talk to the father of the deceased, Mr Kula Tyochivir, failed he was said to be too devastated to speak as at the time of filing this report.
