Petroleumprice.ng has shortlisted 17 finalists for the 2026 Downstream Industry Awards after a highly competitive nomination exercise that attracted more than 15,000 entries and nearly 3,000 nominations.
A statement by the Chief Executive Officer of Petroleumprice.ng, Mr. Olatide Jeremiah, disclosed that the development marks the conclusion of the nomination phase of the awards, with the shortlisted finalists now set to battle for recognition in their respective categories when public voting opens on September 21 (today).
The nomination exercise, which commenced on August 1 and closed on September 15, attracted participation from across Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas industry, reflecting the growing interest in recognition for outstanding performance and contributions to the sector.
The organisers said the 17 finalists emerged from the extensive nomination process, which sought to identify individuals, organisations and brands making significant contributions to the development of Nigeria’s downstream petroleum industry.
The awards are expected to recognise achievements across various segments of the downstream value chain, at a time when the industry is undergoing major changes following the expansion of domestic refining capacity, evolving market dynamics and increased competition among industry players.
Petroleumprice.ng said voting would remain open for more than five weeks, ending on October 31, after which the winners will be unveiled at the 2026 Recognition and Awards ceremony.
The organisers said the response to this year’s nomination exercise demonstrates the depth of talent, innovation and industry participation within Nigeria’s downstream petroleum sector.
The 2026 edition is expected to attract major industry stakeholders, including refiners, oil marketers, regulators, distributors, service providers and other participants across the petroleum value chain.
