Presidential Committee on ‘Beyond Disability Project’ Inaugurated to Promote Inclusivity and Equal Opportunities
The Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities inaugurated the Presidential Committee on the ‘Beyond Disability Project’ on Friday, 7 June 2024. The project aims to promote awareness and implementation of disability prohibition laws in Nigeria, ensuring equal opportunities and inclusivity for persons with disabilities, in pursuant of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President.
The inauguration ceremony, held at the Federal Secretariat, Abuja, saw the appointment of five accomplished citizens to the Committee on Contact, Finance Mobilization, and Strategy Development. The Committee members, assigned with a presidential authorization to engage whomever it may concern, include; Dr. David Ogbonna Chitas; Ebube Mbonu; Mr. Gwongon Dung Gyang; Valentine Ugochukwu Ani Zhyon; and Mr. Otuu Ndukwe Nathan.
Ebube Mbonu, a renowned professional in innovative enterprise development and legacy wealth management, brings a wealth of contacts and opportunities to the team. His extensive experience in fostering strategic partnerships and driving inclusive growth will significantly enhance the project’s impact.
“The ‘Beyond Disability Project’ is a vital initiative that aligns with my passion for inclusivity and empowerment,” said Ebube Mbonu. Speaking on behalf of the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Special Needs and Equal Opportunities, Hon. Mohammed Abba Isah said, “The President is confident in the capacity of this Committee’s commitment to leveraging your skills and network to ensure the project’s success.”
The Committee aims to mobilize resources and secure commitments from various stakeholders, develop effective strategies for project implementation and long-term sustainability, and engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure inclusivity and foster a sense of ownership among all parties involved.
The ‘Beyond Disability Project’ launching event is scheduled for 27 June 2024 at the Banquet hall, State House, Abuja. With the expertise and dedication of Committee members like Ebube Mbonu, this initiative is poised to make a significant impact in promoting disability rights and inclusivity in Nigeria.
