12-year-old boy needs N4m for ruptured intestine surgery

A 12-year-old student of Vessels College, Ijeododo, Lagos, Enoch Adeboye Ayomide, who is suffering from a ruptured intestine as a result of typhoid; fever he had some time last year, has appealed to Nigerians for N4 million in help.

Little Enoch, who appeared weak and tired, was accompanied by his Parents, Mr and Mrs Paul Ayomide, when he visited The Sun Newspapers office, calling on well-meaning people and organizations to help him live a normal life by assisting him to raise the money for medical surgery.

Speaking with our correspondent, Enoch’s father, Mr. Paul, a teacher, said that the young student, is in JSS 1. He begged Nigerians to help his child by raising the money for his surgery

Narrating the boy’s medical condition, Paul said that Enoch had a ruptured intestine as a result of typhoid he suffered last year, and he was rushed to Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), where he underwent the first surgery.

“But after the surgery, we observed that the intestine was connected outside. And for more than one year now, he has not been going to the toilet through his anus. Anytime he eats, the unprocessed food will come out like poo.

“That is a challenge we’ve been facing. When he sleeps and wakes up, the whole place is messed up. So they told us in LUTH that he has to come back for the second surgery, which is called correctional surgery, so that they can return his intestine to his stomach and connect it to his anus so that he can start defecating very well.

“That is the challenge we are going through now. That is why we have come here today to beg the public to help us to raise the sum of N4 million so that we can go and do this surgery that we are planning to do so that the boy can go back to school and continue his education and have a free life so that he can go to wherever he wants to go and so that his life will not be caged or shortened with this condition that he is in. So that is what we need help with now,” he pleaded.

Adeboye requires corrective surgery on his intestine to live a normal life.

This operation is estimated to cost about four million naira (N4,000,000) only. Public spirit organizations and individuals can contact the family with the numbers below:
