Abia chapter of the Labour Party (LP), has expressed its gratitude to the people of the state for elect the party’s candidate, Dr Alex Otti as the next governor of the state. The party assured the people of good governance during Otti’s tenure.
The party appreciated the voters for ensuring that it’s candidates for the various national and state assembly positions succeeded in winning the contests.
In a statement made available to Daily Sun, LP Chairman in the state, Chief Ceekay Igara, commended Dr Alex Otti and his wife, Priccila, for their doggedness and commitment to seeing the evolution of a new Abia.
He further thanked the national electoral umpire officials, heads of security agencies in the state, the media and the party’s campaign council for their resilience in ensuring that peace prevailed before, during and after the contests as well as during the collation of results and final announcement of the winner.
“I specifically want to appreciate the Nigerian Police Abia State, The DSS, The Nigerian Army, The Navy, INEC Secretariat Abia State, IPAC, the press and indeed all other security agencies for their professionalism and dedication to peaceful environment for the election, and prayed that God will give Dr Otti, and the team he will put in place the courage to reposition and move Abia forward,” the statement noted.
