1 die, 7 rescued in Lagos auto crash

A driver of a 14 passengers commercial vehicle was confirmed dead and seven others  with various degrees of injuries rescued in an auto crash that resulted in the burning of another bus belonging to Lagos Bus Service Limited at Ifako inward Ogudu area of the state, yesterday.

According to a witness, the commercial bus somersaulted twice and the driver died instantly following the seriousness of the collision between the two vehicles which was as a result of loss of control due to excessive speeding.

Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement, yesterday, by its Director of Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department, Adebayo Taofiq.

It said a preliminary investigation revealed that the fully-loaded commercial bus was coming from Lagos Island and heading to Ogudu when the accident occurred.
