Eminent businessman and former Abia State governor, Dr. Orji Kalu, has lamented the death of former chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC), Justice Mustapha Akanbi.
Kalu described Akanbi’s death as a huge loss to Nigeria.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Kunle Oyewumi, the former governor, who extolled the virtues of the late jurist, also described him as incorruptible, upright and bold.
“The Nigerian Judiciary has lost one of its best.
“Having served in various capacities in the private and public sectors both locally and internationally, Justice Akanbi made remarkable contributions to the legal profession beyond the shores of Nigeria.
“He was a philanthropist and a compassionate community leader.
“I commiserate with Ilorin Emirate Council and the government and people of Kwara State, over the sad loss,” Kalu said.
The former governor, who prayed for the repose of Akanbi’s soul, consoled his family and urged them to uphold the good deeds of their late patriarch.
