Zulum appoints professor of pediatrics to head primary health

Borno : Zulum admits mistakes in 2020 local polls

Borno State Governor, Babagana  Zulum, has appointed Mohammed Arab Alhaji, as the new head of the state Primary Healthcare Development Agency (SPHCDA).

The professor of pediatrics, gastroenterology, hematology and nutrition at the University of Maiduguri, was Commissioner of Health between July 2022 and May 2023.

He had also served as Chief Medical Director of Borno State’s Hospital Management Board from September 2020 to July 2022.

He was once the Head of University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition / Infectious diseases specialist clinics.

Zulum also reappointed Malam Isa Gusau as his Special Adviser on Strategy and Publicity. Gusau, a former Assistant Editor with Daily Trust newspapers Abuja, had served in same capacity between June 2019 and May 2023.

The governor also returned BabaSheik Haruna as Senior Special Assistant Media, and AbdulRahman Bundi as Senior Special Assistant New Media. All appointments take immediate effect.
