Controversial Nigerian singer, Portable has sparked uproar by blaming the late Afrobeat pioneer and activist Fela Anikulapo-Kuti for his death.

In a recent interview on the renowned podcast Echoo Room with media personality Quincy Jonze, Portable said that Fela died early because he “did not mind his business.”

The interview, which has since gone trendy on social media, shows Portable criticizing the iconic singer and activist for devoting his life to fighting for Nigerians’ rights.

According to Portable, Fela’s activism ended his life.

“According to what we were told, if Fela had minded his business a little he would have lived longer. But he was busy fighting for Nigerians wey no fight for their selves”, Portable stated.

In the same interview, Portable addressed his ongoing fight with rapper Zlatan Ibile, calling him the “devil” who caused the disagreement between him and Afrobeats artist Davido.

“I was in America looking for foreign artistes. I was busy displaying my madness online when Davido called me to come. Me and Davido did not quarrel until when the devil Zlatan came.”
