The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has donated Sallah packages to more than five thousand women across the state in celebration of Eid-el-Kabir festival.
The items were presented to the targeted PDP women politicians, councillors, local government women leaders, female elders, and beneficiaries of the Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal Trust Fund Foundation, among others at Government House in Gusau the state capital.
Represented by Lady Larai Musa Lawal and Hajiya Hussana Sani Muhammad, the first Lady explained that the gesture is intended to ease the burden on women during the festive period and enable them to celebrate Sallah with joy and dignity.
“We are distributing cows, rams, foodstuffs, and cash to beneficiaries selected from all fourteen local government areas of Zamfara State,” they said.
They noted that the initiative is in line with the priorities of the current administration, led by Governor Dauda Lawal, which is committed to improving the welfare of the less privileged, particularly at the grassroots level.
in her message First Lady urged the people of Zamfara to use the Sallah period to pray for peace and seek divine intervention in addressing the security challenges facing the state and the country at large.
She emphasized that the people based government under Governor Dauda Lawal has consistently made women’s empowerment a central part of its development agenda.
Hajiya Huriyya Lawal, known for her longstanding philanthropic and humanitarian contributions, continues to champion initiatives that uplift the vulnerable and restore hope to those in need.
Earlier in her remarks, a political associate Hajiya Hadiza Gusau, popularly known as Mai H expressed gratitude to the First Lady, describing the assistance as timely. She also urged beneficiaries, especially those in rural areas, to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution of the items
The First Lady concluded by calling on the people of Zamfara to remain supportive of Governor Dauda Lawal’s administration as it works to bring progress and stability to the state.
