Yuletide: Nwifuru splashes N100,000 on every Ebonyi worker

From Wilson Okereke, Afikpo

Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State, on Thursday, announced N100,000 for every worker in the state.

Nwifuru said the gesture was to enable the workers to be happy and celebrate this year’s Christmas in line with his Charter of Needs manifesto.

The Governor spoke at the Christian Ecumenical Centre, Abakaliki, during the flag off of Renewed Hope Initiative Elderly Support Scheme of the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu.

The programme was organised by the Governor’s wife, Mary-Maudline Nwifuru.

He noted that the welfare of the people of the state was his priority.

“I have decided to take a bold step, it is very hard but we must do it. The workers of this state must live like others in this Christmas period.

“In this season, you need to bless your neighbour, you need to be a blessing in your home.

“And as a leader of this state, it is a necessity to be a blessing in the homes of everyone in this state.

“I cannot say that I am doing this because it is not my personal money, it is the money of the state that I am using which I am elected to manage.

“I have resolved with the caucus and Principal Officers of government since yesterday when I came in, that every worker in Ebonyi State government, not local government, am not managing local government.

“I am going to have meeting with local government Chairmen, every worker in this state must get N100,000,” he declared.

The Governor’s wife, Mrs. Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, said the priority of her husband’s administration was to show love to everyone in the state.

She described the Yuletide period as a time of joy and comfort for all.
