As part of its resolve to impart Lives positively, the Gbenga Samuel Wemimo Ministries International’s (GSWMI) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm has embarked on a heartwarming mission to spread joy and support to the less privileged nationwide this season.
The head of the GSWMI-CSR team, Dr Ololade Akinrinlola, disclosed this to Daily Sun on Friday in Lagos.
Dedicated to embody the love of Christ, GSWMI-CSR team extended its annual tradition of bringing smiles to the faces of the underserved and vulnerable members of society this Christmas.
The outreach which commenced in September across 18 states within Nigeria and the United Kingdom culminated in a grand finale this December.
Akinrinlola, affirmed that the GSWMI-CSR which is being funded by donations from members and partners, aims at reaching the whole world, adding that currently it has CSR activities across the 36 states in Nigeria and the FCT.
“The highlight of December’s efforts saw the team visit the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, marking a significant chapter in their ongoing CSR endeavours.
“Their compassionate outreach touched lives of numerous individuals: 36 mothers, including those caring for twins and triplets, 12 male patients in the ward, and 5 children in the paediatric ward.
“Prayers and support were offered to patients grappling with diabetes and cancer, alongside distributing heartfelt gifts while invoking blessings upon each recipient,” the GSWMI-CSR boss said.
The team leader revealed that the team in Port Harcourt visited prison inmates, extending hope that can be found in the Christian faith.
“In a testament to their commitment to holistic outreach, the Port Harcourt team extended the gesture to the prison, where they spent time with inmates, spreading the message of hope and love as inspired by Christ’s teachings.
“The cumulative impact of these initiatives over time has been profound, benefiting over 10,000 individuals since its inception. “Notably, the outreach efforts extended beyond the streets and inner cities, with focused attention given to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), orphanages, and widows during this December’s activities,”
She further reiterated GSWMI-CSR’s commitment in the new year to reach the need of the downtrodden in the society with the love of God and provision of their basic needs.
“With a dedication to perpetuate this compassionate initiative, plans are underway to continue and expand their efforts into the new year.
‘The ministry remains steadfast in its commitment to making a sustained, positive difference in the lives of those in need, reflecting the essence of continuous giving and support for the vulnerable segments of society,” she added.
