Convener of One Youth Policy Summit, Mr. UcheChukwu Agbo, has called on Ebonyi State young professionals to take personal responsibility for the socioeconomic development of the state.
He made this call while addressing a group of over 30 young Ebonyi professionals from various parts of the world who converged on Abakaliki, the state capital, for a two-day policy summit.
The event, which was aimed at developing an actionable policy framework for the state in healthcare, economic development and education, brought participants into conversation with major stakeholders within the state, including the Director-General of Ebonyi Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, Steve Odo, Henry UroChukwu, Paul Igwe, John Otu, Ben Voth and Chidi Anyasi, among others.
During engagements, participants identified key issues facing the state in the three cardinal sectors and developed a policy framework geared toward addressing them.
Each cluster group assured that it would be committed to solving a specific problem in the state over the next 12 months, promising to, among other things, sponsor some Ebonyi students to school, attract investors into the state, provide voluntary technical assistance to government ministries and agencies as well as capacity-building.
Agbo expressed his appreciation to all those who partnered with One Youth to make the event a success, stating that the summit was the first among the series of programmes geared toward the transformation of socioeconomic development of the state and the country as a while.
