A third republic senator, Anthony Adefuye, has been commended for his roles in human capacity and nation building, having contributed largely towards Nigerian democracy.
Afrikanwatch Network Communications Advisory Council stated this in a statement, yesterday.
The council, while congratulating the elder statesman, who clocks 80 years today, said he has lived a life of fulfilment with impact in the society.
The statement, issued by the council Chairman, Nzeribe Okegbue, managing director/chief executive officer, Combatant Guards Limited, through the Editor-in-Chief of the News Outfit, Mark Orgu, described Adefuye as a man who has built capacity across the length and breadth of Nigeria, thereby becoming a national patriot with pride and dignity.
“On behalf of Afrikanwatch Advisory Council, comprising eminent Nigerians, including Solomon Akinboye, former dean, School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos; Andrew Obafemi, former national president, Nigerian Cartographic Association; Dennis Amachree, former department of state services boss; Kabir Adamu, a security expert; Felicia Agubata, vice president, Corporate Service Board, Nigerian Society of Engineers, and Obiageli Modebelu, University of Lagos, I congratulate Adefuye on his 80th birthday, marking his entrance into octogenarian family, a milestone in one’s life.
“Adefuye, as life patron and grandmentor of Afrikanwatch Network, has remained a force towards its growth and development in the last nine years. And so, we celebrate with him and his family in this time of happiness and joy while wishing him more years in good health of mind and body,” the council said.
