You have a home: Founder launches tech platform in Nigeria

For many Nigerians living abroad, the idea of returning home permanently is often uncertain.

But for entrepreneur, Odera Muoma, the decision to return from the United Kingdom after 25 years was deliberate.

The founder of Rheel Group says the move was driven by a simple belief, that experience gained abroad should eventually be used to build stronger systems back home.

“You have a home. Always remember that,” Muoma said.

“If history shifted your stability and redirected your labour to grow another nation, then going there is not weakness. It is strategy.”

He added: “Go where opportunity exists. Then create opportunities where you are from.”

Muoma has now returned to Nigeria to establish a group of companies operating across different industries.

The group currently oversees Rheel Estate Limited and Rheel Technology Limited.

The technology company is preparing to launch a new digital platform called Fyndr in Abuja this March.

The platform helps people find service providers quickly.

Users simply submit a request for a service and are connected directly with verified providers who are ready to deliver.

Muoma says the platform was developed after years of observing how difficult it can be for people to find reliable services.

“Many service providers depend on word of mouth,” he said.

“At the same time, customers spend a lot of time searching or asking around before they find someone trustworthy.”

According to him, Fyndr introduces a simpler structure.

“The system is straightforward; Request, Connect, Deal,” he said.

“You submit a request, we connect you with verified providers, and the job gets done.”

The platform will initially focus on three service areas; real estate services, cleaning services and home maintenance.

“These are services people need frequently,” Muoma said.

“When systems are organised, everyone benefits.”

The entrepreneur also hopes to support small Nigerian businesses through technology.

One of the first collaborations will involve GoodFind Paints, a small paint manufacturing company in Abuja.

Muoma believes technology can help such businesses reach more customers.

“Many small manufacturers have good products but struggle with visibility,” he said.

“If we introduce the right systems, those businesses can grow.”

Beyond Fyndr, Rheel Technology is also developing another digital platform aimed at expanding digital commerce and participation.

The system will help businesses improve product visibility while allowing individuals to earn extra income through digital participation.

Muoma believes Nigeria still has significant opportunities for platforms that solve everyday problems.

“Nigeria has produced impressive technology companies,” he said.

“But there is still space for solutions that address daily operational challenges.”

He also believes government policies that support local innovation will encourage more founders to build within the country.

“Founders should be able to build and scale their companies here,” he said.

“For us, the focus is simple, build systems that allow more people to participate in the economy.”
