Pan-African fintech leader Yellow Card has been named a finalist in the Payments category at the inaugural Money Awards, hosted by Money20/20 in Las Vegas on Sunday, 26 October. The recognition highlights the company’s innovative approach to building critical payments infrastructure across Africa and emerging markets.

This milestone caps a remarkable year for Yellow Card, which has seen rapid growth, strategic partnerships with global giants like Visa and Fireblocks, and successful expansion into emerging markets.

“Our vision has always been bigger than just payments,” said Chris Maurice, CEO and co-founder of Yellow Card. “It’s about creating a level playing field where an entrepreneur in São Paulo or Lagos has the same chance to scale globally as one in London or New York. Being a finalist at Money20/20 shows the world is not only watching but recognizing the importance of that mission.”

The nomination also shines a light on Yellow Card’s technological edge.

“From a technical perspective, our innovation is about making the complex feel simple,” said Justin Poiroux, CTO and co-founder of Yellow Card. “Businesses don’t need to be crypto experts to benefit from the speed and efficiency of stablecoins. Our infrastructure handles all the back-end complexity, so the customer experience remains seamless.

This recognition celebrates that the technology powering our platform is just as important as the experience it delivers. We’re building the financial layer that allows businesses worldwide to leverage stablecoins and emerging market payment rails.”
