More supports have continued to pour in for the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima, as an APC group loyal to the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has promised to back them all the way.
Haddy Ametuo, Kogi State leader of the group, under the platform of GYB Network 4 Asiwaju, disclosed that he briefed the vice presidential candidate on their activities and plan towards ensuring victory during the 2023 general elections.
Equally present at the meeting is the incumbent APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, who doubles as the national coordinator for GYB Network for Asiwaju.
In a statement Haddy Ametuo issued in Abuja, the group pledged full alliance and support to the presidential candidate and his running mate ahead of the poll.
“Through the support of our principals, Yahaya Bello, we paid a solidarity visit on our vice presidential candidate, Shettima to congratulate him on his selection and assure him of our support for the project.
“We are particularly excited because Shettima is young, brilliant, resourceful, energetic and a round peg in a round hole, who would add developmental values to Nigeria,” the group emphasised.
Ametuo declared that Kogi state APC under the leadership of Governor Bello has been repositioned and strengthened beyond the reach of opposition political parties. He assured victory for Tinubu/Shettima ticket in the state.
“Being a grassroot organisation, we assured Shettima that we will ensure massive mobilisation of real voters from all the nook and crannies of Kogi state to deliver the ticket 100 percent during the election.”
“We are sure of the competence, capacity and track records of achievements of Kashim Shettima as former governor and Senator against other sentiments.
“Against all odds, we believe that Shettima was selected based on the principles of integrity, inclusion and continued performances and relevance in the Nigerian politics,” Ametuo noted.
Responding, the statement, dosclosed that the vice presidential candidate, who was happy with the visit, thanked the leadership of GYB Network 4 Asiwaju for their commitment to the party and Tinubu/Shettima presidential project.
