Women town planners commiserate with Lagos govt, families over train-bus crash

The Association of Women Town Planners in Nigeria, Lagos State Chapter, has commiserated with the Lagos State Government as well as families, colleagues and friends of  those who died or sustained injuries in the train-bus accident on Thursday, March 9, 2023.

The accident involving a Lagos State Government bus conveying staffers to work in the morning and a passenger train at a level crossing in Ikeja. At least six people were dead and many others were injured.

In a statement signed by the Chairperson, Ajose Victoria Taiwo, the Association of Women Town Planners Lagos Chapter said it was saddened at the news of the fatal accident yesterday and urged the families and other bereaved persons to take heart and accept their sympathies.

In the condolence letter to the governor and people of the state, the women were shocked and dismayed on the news of the accident.

“We express our heartfelt condolences and prayers for God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable losses. We pray that the Almighty Lord grant the departed souls eternal rest. We also pray for speedy recovery for all injured ones as well,” the association said.
