For stealing her two serchets of noddles, a  woman has allegedly  contracted the services of street urchins to torture her 19 years old son to death at the Ejigbo area of Lagos.

The Police said they have stepped  up manhunt for the woman who has been  on the run.

According to a witness, the single mother,  whose marriage was said to have collapsed five years ago, was  living with her three children at Ilewe Ejigbo, Lafenwa street, Ejigbo, adjacent to Ejigbo NNPC  Bus stop, on learning that his son Quadri had died from the torture, pretended that she had collapsed and she was rushed to the hospital.from where she escaped to an unknown destination.

Daily Sun gathered that the boy, who was the last born of the family, was accused by his mother of stealing two sachets of noddles she kept in the house.

His mother , who was angry at her son,contraced  the leader of street  urchins in the area, 70 ,who contacted some of his members who started torturing  the boy, while beating the t boy, he gave up the ghost.

Another witness, who spoke on the condition of anonymity,said the boy could not escape because the hoodlums  were too many and were beating  him mercilessly .

According to the source, the urchins who were torturing the boy  inside a pool of water, used electricity  live wire to electrocute him till he gave up the ghost.

However, the mother on  hearing the news that her son had died, became perplexed and fainted. She was said to have been rushed to one healthcare, where she was rejected and then took to an unknown private hospital.

Daily Sun check at Ejigbo police station to find out if the police made any arrest,but the  Divisional Police Officer, Alhaja Maryam Sonubi, said the police  had  not made  any arrest.

According to the DPO,a  patrol team met with the father of the boy, who said he had just come to pick up his corpse for burial. Every attempt made by the police to fish out the  mother of the boy, proved abortive.

Lagos State Police Publlic Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundeyin,said,” The matter was not reported at the station. When the DPO got wind of it, the woman had disappeared from home and hospital. The house remains deserted till date. The boy’s father was contacted, but he is  not interested in assisting. Manhunt is still on for the mother and the hoodlums  who  allegedly committed the dastardly act”.
