A middle aged woman has committed suicide by jumping from a boat into Igando river, Lagos.
The woman, who was later discovered to had earlier contemplated suicide was armed with a poisonous substance, sniper.
According to a senior police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to speak with the press, said on March 10, one Rasaq came to Igando Police station to report that on Saturday, one Nimotalahi Ishola Folashade, boarded their boat, Isuti Jet, Isuti Road, Igando, Lagos, going Totowu, Ogun State, in company with 11 other passengers, but suddenly, removed her life jacket, and jumped into the river.
“ She left behind a nylon bag containing a bottle of sniper, Alimosho General Hospital card and some drugs”.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Benjamin Hundyin, said detectives visited the scene of the incident, while a search party has constituted to to recover the body. According to the PPRO, investigation into the matter was on going and effort was being made to contact the family.
