Forum of 2023 PDP House of Assembly Aspirants in Enugu State has urged politicians in the state to withdraw their cases against the victory of Peter Mbah in the interest of the development of the state.
The Forum consisting of State House of Assembly aspirants from the 17 Local Government Areas of the state made this known, yesterday, in a statement jointly signed by Elochukwu Chukwuani, Chiedozie Anukwe and Edith Eze.
The group said the state was in dire need of evidence-based leadership which Mbah represents, advising that he should be left alone without undue legal encumbrances.
The statement read: “This is a victory for Ndi-Enugu at large and a milestone that is worth jubilating for as we know the material that is stuffed in the incoming Governor of our dear Coal City State – Peter Mbah. This golden opportunity was brought to our doorsteps through the fielding of this entrepreneurial guru.
“Peter Mbah as we know him is a man of many sterling parts. He has over the years shown unbridled capability in building business empires catering for the employment of Nigerians and stabilising the petroleum sector. We’re certain that our efforts at enthroning a human-faced regime will not be sidelined as our core expectation is embedded in trust and attainable height of performance on which the state shall stand as standard of leadership.
“We are convinced that our pleas to the incoming Governor which are democracy-driven shall be attended to as our people in the respective communities are expecting a new normal in the way governance had always been in our dear state.
“At the same time, we’re solemnly urging other contestants at the election to sheathe their spears as one person is bound to win in every contest against the rest. They should, in the interest of good conscience and love for the state , withdraw their cases filed at different courts challenging the outcome of the poll which has been adjudged transparent.”
