Governor Hope Uzodimma will be conferred with the Grand Service Star of Rivers State (GSSRS) award in recognition of his contribution and commitment to national unity and equity on Saturday, May 27.
The award, Rivers State’s highest, will be conferred on Governor Uzodimma by Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.
In a letter personally signed by Governor Wike, Governor Uzodimma was told that the award is in recognition of his contributions and commitment to national unity and equity.
Governor Wike in the letter said: “I am pleased to notify you of my approval for conferring the highest Rivers State honours on you as the GSSRS.
“This award recognises your outstanding commitment and contributions to advancing national unity, equity and justice and your valuable support for government and people of Rivers.”
Few weeks ago, Governor Wike had declared on a national television that Governor Uzodimma has the capacity “to crush any governorship candidate in Imo State.”
He further expressed confidence with the achievements of Governor Uzodimma in his first tenure, it was almost certain that his re-election is given.
An appreciative Governor Uzodimma said he will not take the honour bestowed on him by the Rivers State government for granted.
