Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, who doubles as the National Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has extended an olive branch to aggrieved party members, assuring them they will receive their due entitlements if they return to the fold.
Speaking at the PDP’s 108th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, Wike attributed the departure of some members to uncertainty and a search for political shelter. He urged the party leadership to prioritize reconciliation.
“Chairman and your team should put in place a strong committee to reach out to those who are aggrieved. There is room for them to come back, and whatever is due to them will still be given,” Wike declared.
The former Rivers State governor stressed the need to close ranks swiftly, warning that prolonged internal wrangling could undermine the party’s electoral prospects. “In life, there must be a period of crisis. What matters is how we resolve the crisis. Now that we are together, we must not stop at reconciliation.”

Wike reaffirmed his unwavering loyalty to the PDP, noting his membership since 1998. “I have been a member of this party since 1998 and I will not leave. Whatever happens, we will continue to live as members of the PDP,” he stated.
He also advocated for transparency to rebuild trust and lure back defectors: “If you engage them, they will understand and support the party. There is a need for openness so that we can achieve the unity we desire.”
Earlier, PDP National Chairman, Abdulrahman Mohammed, heralded a new era of strategy and preparation, vowing adherence to the Electoral Act and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines for congresses. “The era of uncertainty is behind us. The era of strategy, consultation, and electoral preparation has begun,” he affirmed, promising transparent processes at all levels.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT), Mao Ohuabunwa, echoed the unity call, urging members to bury differences and enforce discipline. He commended reforms like e-registration, stressing that exclusion has no place if the PDP aims to reclaim national relevance.
