The National President of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi has opened the Kebbi State chapter of the association.
Adeniyi,who opened the office alongside her team from other states, at the Kebbi State Area Command headquarters, Birnin Kebbi, described the event as historical in the history Customs in Nigeria.
According to her, “since our inception in 2023, COWA has been working tirelessly to create a platform for the wives of customs officers to come together, support one another, and make a positive impact in our communities.”
Adeniyi disclosed that the association have made significant progress in various areas, such as empowerment Programs especially in the area of skills acquisition workshops, entrepreneurship training, and financial literacy seminars, community outreach.

She said: “We have reached out to various communities, providing support to orphanages, widows, and other vulnerable groups.We have provided capacity-building training for our members, equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their personal and professional lives.
“We have created a platform for our members to network, share ideas, and collaborate on projects. As we move forward, we are committed to building on the progress we have made and exploring new ways to support our members and communities. I urge all members to continue to work together, support one another, and make a positive impact in our communities”.
Adeniyi expressed her gratitude to her husband and the Kebbi Command for the support given to the association to ensure the event was successful in Kebbi.
Earlier, Mrs Chinatu Udo Nwokorie,the Wife of Kebbi Comptroller of Customs, and State Chairperson of COWA,who welcome Mrs. Adeniyi to Kebbi Command, commended the Comptroller-General of Customs, CGC Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, for his unwavering support for COWA, stressed that, his leadership has undoubtedly been instrumental in driving the Association’s mission forward.
“To our National President, Mrs. Kikelomo Adeniyi, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for your dedication and devotion to the welfare of Customs Officers and their families.
