Why organisations struggle to execute strategy

Monehin argues that when execution is left to individual heroics rather than institutional design, performance becomes fragile under pressure. Organisations may communicate strategy clearly, but without reinforcing it through operating routines and consequence mechanisms, alignment quickly erodes.
