The National Coordinator of Obi-Datti Frontiers, Kelvin Odatse Peters has given reasons why the people of Middle belt have decided to align with Southeast for equity, justice and fair play to actualize the ambition of the presidential candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi to become Nigeria’s next president.
Speaking in an interview with news men, he said that the people of middle belt want a better Nigeria, adding that among all the presidential candidates, Peter Obi is the only candidate with the capacity to change the current political and economic narrative in the country.
According to him, the people of middle belt are not happy with the situation of things in the country and that it would be foolhardy to be doing the same thing and expect a different result.
He said that Peter Obi has become the symbol of hope for the frustrated and impoverished Nigerians and as such need the support of every well- meaning Nigerian to change the narrative of governance in Nigeria.
According to him, Obi-Datti Frontiers have spread like kerosene to the six geo-political zones and the Federal Capital Territory and that everywhere they went, people welcome them with open arms.
Furthermore, he said that the party in power has ruined the economy, betrayed the trust and hope of the masses and also failed to protect lives and properties of the citizenry, which is the utmost responsibility of any government.
According to him, because of the general frustration with the overall failure of the party in power, most Nigerians now see Peter Obi as their only hope for their political and economic emancipation.
His words, “The people of middle belt are determined to align with the south east for equity, justice and fair play to ensure that Nigeria will begin to move in the right direction. We are tired of the status quo. There is no way we would continue to do the same thing as a people and as a country and expect to get a different result. So, right now we in Obi-Datti Frontiers have become evangelists of taking back our country and we are spreading this message in all the nooks and crannies of the country, that it must not continue to be business as usual. We need to come together to salvage our country from the stranglehold of bad leadership and incompetency.
