Why I want to govern Delta –Omo-Agege

Governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State and Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has said he desirous of building a compassionate system that will guarantee support for the vulnerable in the society.

Besides, Omo-Agege said if elected, his administration that Deltans live in a peaceful and secured environment free from harassment and intimidation.

The deputy Senate president spoke in his hometown, Orogun in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state, where he inaugurated a political pressure group, Orhoerha Political Forum (OPF).

Represented by his Chief of Staff, Otive Igbuzor, Omo-Agege said he was committed to the development of all communities in the state.

“My agenda in politics is to build a compassionate system that guarantees support for the vulnerable among us, and ensure our people live in peace, free from harassment and intimidation.

“I am committed to the sustainable development of our communities, including fulfilment of the traditional obligation of providing an enable environment for the peaceful operation of the private sector,” he said.

Omo-Agege appealed to the group to be active political agents and promote an understanding that even our local communities are pivotal to changing attitudes towards political and developmental issues.

OPF Coordinator, Oforiche Lucky, said the political pressure group was formed to support and advance present and future political ideas, interests and aspirations of all their indigenes who are contesting political offices at all levels of government.

Oforiche urged all sons and daughters of Orogun and Deltans to cast their votes for Omo-Agege in the governorship election next year.

“I humbly urge everyone of us to work for Omo-Agege to enable him actualise his political aspirations, irrespective of our various political parties.

“Omo-Agege has shown in the course of his political career, particularly, since his ascendancy to the position of deputy Senate president, that not only does he know his onions, he also know how to use the privilege of political position to the benefit of his people,” he said.
