Fitness buff, Sir Goodluck Obi has counseled fathers to regard keeping fit as an investment in healthy living and longevity.

Sir Obi, chairman of Gategold Fitness company, was speaking in Lagos on the occasion of Father’s Day. He said, because of the pivotal role of fathers in the welfare of the family, it is imperative that they should pay special attention to their health and wellness.

“Every father is the head of the family, like the engine of a vehicle that drives all other parts. When the engine breaks down, everything comes to a standstill. On this occasion, I implore fathers not to take their health for granted,” Chief Obi said.

He noted that fathers often work hard to provide goodies for their children, wives, and relatives, but neglect to take good care of themselves.

“It is time fathers know that they are the first to be maintained. Service yourself, go for vacation, so that you don’t break down. More especially, all fathers must take exercise very seriously, keep fit, and live a healthy lifestyle to live a healthy, longer life and enjoy the fruits of your hard work,” he added.

Chief Obi recommended good food, supplements, and a daily exercise routine for all fathers. He urged them to buy the best fitness equipment to keep at home and make use of it.

“Your account balance is your state of health, not the money in the bank. Many people think going to a gym and doing exercises is a pastime of the rich. That’s not true. We all need to stay healthy, regardless of financial status. That’s a message I keep promoting in the last 20 years as a fitness expert,” Chief Obi said.

He said this ideal of fitness inspired him to set up Gategold Fitness Limited, which has successfully installed high-quality exercise equipment in different homes across Nigeria.

“Fathers should live healthy and longer. God has promised us a longer life. Make that promise a reality by taking your health as your first priority this Father’s Day,” he concluded.
