The Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority Hadiza Bala Usman has said that she would continue to stick to laid-down regulations and adhere to government policies in the discharge of her duties.
Speaking when she received the visiting president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Alhaji Ismaila Muhammadu Zakari, in her office, Usman said that she would strengthen collaboration with ICAN and other similar bodies as this would help to enhance capacity-building of the personnel of the organisation.
She added that NPA administration would give priority considerations to fresh ideas and suggestions which would in turn help improve efficiency in the authority.
Earlier, the president of ICAN, Alhaji Ismaila Muhammadu Zakari, charged the NPA boss to remain steadfast in the discharge of her duty, as the nation as looking up to her and appreciates all she had done since her appointment.
Zakari stressed that ICAN’s desire to strengthen her relationships with the NPA since the institute has a large number of her members in the organisation. He expressed happiness over the MD’s efforts to plug leakages in the NPA and her efforts to train the human resources of the organisation.
The president of ICAN affirmed that members of the institute in NPA are always available to assist management and that they are well trained on the need for confidentiality of reports and as such would help to further stabilise the organisation.
