We accept supreme court judgement in good faith – Benue PDP

From Scholastica Hir, Makurdi

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Benue State has said that it has accepted the verdict of the Supreme Court of Nigeria over the appeal of the party’s governorship candidate in the 2023 election, Engr Titus Tyoapine Uba, challenging the election of Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia as governor of the state.

The PDP, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chief Bemgba Iortyom, said it recognizes the authority of the courts to interpret the laws made for the good government of Nigeria, and accepts the decision of the Supreme Court on the matter in good faith.

The party appreciated its leader in the state, immediate past Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, for his unwavering support to the litigation process conclusively pursued, and also commended other leaders and its executive organs at various levels for their loyalty and commitment.

PDP equally lauded the resolute focus and determination exhibited by the Governorship Candidate, Engr. Titus Uba, and his running mate, Deputy-Governorship Candidate, Sir John Ngbede while the tenuous litigation process lasted.

“Our great party also hails the resilience and steadfastness of its members in the state, and urges them to continue to keep the faith as it provides credible opposition for the good governance of the state,” Chief Bemgba said.
